|Dyvig Metalwork Design is a small company which makes and designs high quality metalwork for interior designers, architects,
local authorities and private clients.
Dyvig Metalwork Design was set up by Mark Dyvig in 1991. Previously working with artists and designers in a variety of traditional materials, he established the forge producing one off bespoke and small batch pieces of the highest quality to meet our client’s exact requirements.
Mark was born in the UK, but spent his early years in Iowa and New Mexico USA.
Returning to England he gained a BA Honours Degree in 3D Design at Brighton Polytechnic in 1985. Moving to London he worked for a Marble Company, visiting marble quarries in Portugal, selecting and purchasing marble for Fire Places of his design. In 1988 he began working for A & A Sculpture Casting Ltd, working in bronze for such artists as Barry Flanagan, Dhruva Mistry, Bill Woodrow and Bill Turnbull.
|In 1993, Mark moved to Essex to set up his business, Dyvig Metalwork Design. While keeping close links with London based clients,
Marks’ blacksmithing designs have sold to the UK, Europe, and the USA. His influences have been varied over the years, with close ties
with the British Artist Blacksmith Association. He won a travel bursary from the Jinny Quinnell Memorial Trust via the Crafts
Council to visit Paris to research work by French master ferrioniers d’art.
The main ethos of the business is to offer an efficient, friendly service to anyone interested in having metalwork made, from standard ranges to bespoke designs, we want you to enjoy metalwork as much as we do.
